SUMMARY:Making Space for Sand Volunteer Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:On Monday 19th May volunteers from MBMG joined with Cornwall Wildlife Trust for another working session at Marazion Dunes.  Building on the success of the previous working parties\, half the team  cleared any patches of the invasive Rosa Rugosa which regrew whilst the other half transplanted marram. \nA temporary rope fence was put in place until the proper rope barrier fenceil is installed.  We hope the combination of the barriers and a bit of rain will result in successful regrowth of the marram over summer. \nPlease advise if you wish to attend.

SUMMARY:Cornwall Wildlife Trust Water User Survey Training
DESCRIPTION:Be a part of helping us get a better understanding of how our coastal waters are being used. \nCornwall Wildlife Trust are holding an online evening event designed to introduce volunteers to our new water user survey forms. \nThe data collected will help them build a better picture of how our inshore coastal waters are being used by people\, for example fishing\, swimming\, paddle boarding\, boating and jet ski use. \nTraining will provide information on how to identify different types of vessels\, as well as more detailed descriptions such as different symbols water users may use to indicate their activity when in the water. They are hoping to improve our understanding of seasonal patterns and high use areas to guide our conservation efforts. \nThe session is online but to be followed by practical training during Seaquest Southwest public seawatches over the summer. \nFor anymore information please contact oscar.miller@cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk.

They are central to so much that matters in Cornwall\, from history and culture\, to physical and mental wellbeing\, recreation\, and industries including tourism and fisheries. But can healthy seas and productive fisheries coexist in Cornwall? \nThis panel discussion\, chaired by BBC Radio Cornwall presenter\, Julie Skentelbery\, will delve into crucial questions: \n\nHow can we effectively protect our seas\, support local economies\, and bolster food security?\nAre current policies effective\, and what improvements are needed?\nMost importantly\, what does a healthy\, sustainable future for our seas and fisheries look like\, and what steps can we take now to achieve it?\n\nJoin the Cornwall Wildlife Trust for an engaging conversation with leading conservationists and fishers\, as we explore these questions and more. \nAdditional information here for in-person and on-line participation.  Panel discussion begins at 7pm.
